A property owner, a commodity business and an investor with financial assets can all have a similar question: how could this position support the next commercial step?

The answer begins with the asset and the objective. It then depends on the rights, evidence, timing and counterparties involved.

Our supporting capabilities include bespoke review of asset-backed and project-led requirements, including property, acquisition, commodity and gold-related structuring.

Define the asset in commercial terms

The review needs to establish who owns the position, what authority they have and which obligations already affect it. The quality of the evidence matters as much as the description of the asset.

An estimated value is one part of the discussion. Whether an approved counterparty can accept the position for a particular transaction is a separate question.

For physical or project assets, the rights, location and supporting documents help determine what further review is needed.

Be specific about the next step

“Funding” can mean several things. The owner may want to complete an acquisition, support working capital, develop an asset or organise a sale.

Those purposes create different structures. The amount needed, the deadline and the proposed repayment or distribution arrangement all affect the assessment.

The clearer the objective, the easier it is to identify whether a potential route deserves detailed work.

Keep the project and capital workstreams visible

Where a qualifying investor position is being considered for a programme, the project use of any realised output is separately documented. Where the asset itself supports a financing or sale, that transaction has its own terms.

The distinction should remain clear throughout the proposal. A project asset does not automatically become eligible capital for every programme in the family.

Potential advisory, strategic-introduction or equity arrangements also need their own scope and agreements. They should be understandable to everyone involved in the funding discussion.

If you own an asset and have a defined commercial objective, send a concise summary of the position, jurisdiction, ownership, existing commitments and intended use of funds. That is a practical starting point for a bespoke review.

Asset-backed and project-led opportunities are assessed individually. Value, acceptance and availability require evidence and transaction-specific agreement.
